Maine CITE/Maine AEM - Assistive Technology and AEM: What School Psychologists Need to Know

  • 03/27/2019
  • 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM
  • Webinar

School psychologists play an important role in the IEP Team process helping to identify students’ strengths and challenges based upon their clinical observations and psychoeducational assessment tools. As technology of all sorts are now common in Maine classrooms, increasingly students with disabilities are able to use Assistive Technology (AT) to support their learning. Many students with disabilities also need their instructional materials in an accessible format (Accessible Educational Materials – AEM).

In this presentation, designed for school psychologists, participants learn about the common forms of AT used in schools and well as the how AEM is important to students with disabilities.

Topics to be discuss include:

  • IEP requirements for AT and AEM
  • How to school psychologist can use their assessment data to inform the IEP Team
  • Where to find lots of resources

Mary MacLennan, President, Maine Association of School Psychologists will serve as the host for this webinar.
