Dr. Mark Steege will present a FREE webinar Behavior Analytic Problem Solving: Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. Participants will receive 4 CE credits upon completion of a quiz and evaluation form.

A Zoom link and the Powerpoint presentation will be available prior to the webinar and posted on the MASP website. Registrants will be notified by email when the link is available. You must register for this webinar in order to receive CE credit.

Workshop: This four (4) hour presentation will focus on the application of the Behavior Analytic Problem Solving Model in assessing interfering behaviors and identifying comprehensive function-focused interventions. The presentation will describe how  factors such as  executive functioning, thoughts and emotions influence interfering behaviors. 

ObjectivesBased on lecture, case examples, and group discussions, participants will be able to:

1. Identify and describe the components of the Behavior Analytic Problem Solving Model

2. Identify and describe how variables such as executive functioning, thoughts, and emotions influence the occurrences of interfering behaviors.

3. Identify and describe a method for designing function-focused interventions that address the complex array of variables that contribute to interfering behaviors.


Presenter Profile: Mark W. Steege, PhD, is a Professor of Educational and School Psychology at the University of Southern Maine. He holds the following professional credentials: Licensed Psychologist (PS 698)Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (1-06-3004)Nationally Certified School PsychologistCertified School Psychologist-Doctoral. Dr. Steege has published several research articles focusing on the application of applied behavior analysis assessments and interventions with persons with disabilities in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and additional articles in Psychology in the Schools and School Psychology Review, among others. His scholarship includes book chapters in Best Practices in School Psychology (II, III, IV, V, VI), among others. Books include Response to Intervention (2005, 2011; Korean translation in 2016) and Conducting School Based Functional Behavioral Assessment: A Practitioner’s Guide (2003, 2009, 2019; Chinese translations in 2004 and 2007).
