AlloFlow: Turning UDL From Framework to Practice With Free AI-Powered Tools

What happens when a school psychologist builds the EdTech tool they wished existed?

AlloFlow is a free, web-based platform that turns Universal Design for Learning from an abstract framework into daily practice. Paste any text, article, or standard — and AlloFlow uses AI (Google Gemini) to instantly generate differentiated materials:

  •   Leveled Reading — Rewrites text for any grade level (K–12) in seconds
  •   Adventure Mode — Turns any lesson topic into a "Choose Your Own Adventure" game
  •   Games & Activities — Auto-generates bingo cards, crosswords, memory games, and concept sorts
  •   Lesson Plans — Creates structured unit studies and family learning guides
  •   Word Sounds Studio — 8 phonemic awareness activities with scaffolded progression
  •   Interactive STEM Labs — 3D Solar System Explorer, periodic table, ecosystems, and more
  •   RTI/MTSS Tools — Tier classification, progress monitoring, benchmarking, and safety flagging
  •   100+ Languages — Full translation and text-to-speech powered by Gemini

Privacy-first by design: AlloFlow runs in your browser — no student accounts needed. When used with a Google Education account, it aligns with FERPA requirements. No vendor procurement, no data processing agreements, no student PII collected. It leverages your district's existing Google infrastructure.

This 2-hour session includes a hands-on workshop where you'll create your own differentiated lesson. Bring a passage or standard you actually use in your work.

AlloFlow: Turning UDL From Framework to Practice With Free AI-Powered Tools

This event is 2 hours long, with 2 CEUs available upon completion of evaluation form.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:
  • Describe how AlloFlow operationalizes Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to support students with IEPs, 504s, and learning differences — and how AI can enhance educator consultation and professional development workflows.
  • Create a differentiated, multi-modal lesson using AlloFlow's adaptive text leveling, phonemic awareness activities (Word Sounds Studio), and STEM Lab tools.
  • Demonstrate how to export, share, and translate resources for colleagues, students, and multilingual families using 100+ language support.
  • Explain AlloFlow's privacy-focused, no-login architecture and FERPA alignment to administrative stakeholders (e.g., principals, tech directors).
  • Match specific AlloFlow features to individual student needs (e.g., IEP accommodations, ELL support) using case-based consultation scenarios.
  • Apply AlloFlow's RTI/MTSS features — including tier classification, progress monitoring, data-driven benchmarking, and student safety flagging — to support multi-tiered intervention planning

Presenter: Aaron is a graduate of The University of Southern Maine's doctoral program in school psychology. Since completing his dissertation on teaching math skills with Minecraft Education, he has developed expertise in utilizing game-based learning and generative AI to enhance learning, school systems, and psychological practice. Grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, Aaron is currently focusing on development of free open source EdTech tools to ensure that every student, educator, and family has access to the educational tools of the future.
